NECESSARY DELAYS

NAPERVILLE -- I was aboard a flight coming from the East that landed at O'Hare just before 2 p.m. on Sept. 11. Despite detouring north around the worst of the storm, we experienced tremendous turbulence and at times could not see the end of the wings. We felt very lucky to have landed safely. I have the utmost respect for the pilots and air-traffic controllers. If they say it's too dangerous to fly, then I will gladly wait however long it takes. The inconvenience of a delay is well worth avoiding a potentially fatal crash.
